What happened

The board is scheduled to approve a purchase of synthetic turf fields and running tracks at Katella, Kennedy, Loara, and Savanna high schools using a California Multiple Award Schedule contract with AstroTurf Corporation, at a total cost not to exceed $7,344,183, addressing drainage and field-condition issues.

Why it matters to families

This is a major facilities investment across four campuses, establishing AstroTurf as the districtwide standard for future turf projects and using Measure K bond and facilities funds to replace aging or problematic athletic surfaces.
