Orangeview renovation cost ceiling rises from $1.7 million toward $14.7 million
What happened
The board ratified a lease-leaseback contract with Construct 1 One Corporation for the Orangeview Junior High School modernization on December 11, 2025 at a guaranteed maximum price of $1,690,026. Added scope has raised it repeatedly: the approved ceiling stood at about $13.7 million before the July 9, 2026 meeting, and that agenda asked the board to approve two further amendments, for demolition and for ADA concrete work, taking the total project cost to no more than roughly $14.7 million.
Why it matters to families
This is the renovation that has to be finished before Hope School can move in at the end of summer 2026, and it is paid for from facilities money. A project that grows this much through amendments is worth watching for both the schedule and the cost.
The evidence
Consent items 10.3 to 10.5 of the July 9, 2026 agenda recite the December 11, 2025 ratification, state the current approved guaranteed maximum price and contingencies at $13,719,423 before Amendment No. 3, and put the amended total project cost at not more than about $14.7 million after Amendment No. 4.
