Board adopts $74.3 million budget for 2026-27
What happened
On June 17, 2026 the School Board unanimously adopted a 2026-27 budget of $74,329,781: a $69.8 million operating fund, $2.2 million in grants and $2.3 million for school meals. The county's share is $27,821,315. In May the superintendent said the Board of Supervisors had cut the schools' local request by $317,000, but he kept the planned pay raises, later described as averaging 5.31%.
Why it matters to families
The budget sets pay, staffing and programs for the year. Most of it, $51.9 million, goes to instruction.
