New policy on funding facilities for charter schools
What happened
A new policy (LBDA) would give district charter schools a role in facilities planning and a path to share in future bond or mill levy ballot questions. It had its second reading October 13, 2026.
Why it matters to families
If adopted, it could affect how money from any future facilities tax question is divided. Charters on probation or authorized for under 5 years could not take part, and bond-funded buildings would return to the district if a charter closed.
The evidence
The LBDA and LBDA-R attachments to the September 14 and October 13, 2026 agendas are marked as a new policy with a blank adoption date.
