Bullying policy broadens definitions and response rules

What happened
The board adopted revised Policy 8250. It includes cyberbullying in the bullying definition and removes the word educational from the offensive-environment language. The policy says bullying allegations between LCPS students should be addressed as soon as possible, including investigating allegations that could result in discipline.
Why it matters to families
The revised rules clarify which reports need a school response. They do not establish that every allegation is a confirmed incident.
The evidence
The June 23 board adopted the final bullying-policy revision 7–1 after committee and advisory review.
